They were just too GOOD!!!!

It always takes a little bit of luck in the "big" game. The UTES didn't need luck - they were just plain good!!!!!

Six months to go - but who's counting?

Preston has six months before he returns to the USA!!! His tentative release date is May 21st (at least that's what he has told us).
So that means -
Two more telephone calls
27 more Wednesday Emails
1 more Christmas, New Years Day, Civil Rights Day, President's Day, St. Patrick's Day, April Fools Day, Easter, Birthday, and Mother's Day
I just sent his Christmas package...
hopefully he will get it before he comes home!!!!

Blood pumping comment....

So this guy at work made the comment to another coworker (referring to me) "She's not the kind of CPA that I am". I guess that's because he's a moron and I'm not.

I got so worked up on the way to work, that I actually submitted my resume for a "Bank Controller" position that I had heard about a couple of days ago.

I'm sure nothing will become of it, and I will eventually calm down, but it did make me feel better!!!!!

Church on Sunday.....

So I think me and Meranda are doomed!

In church on Sunday, we sat behind another touchy/feely/backscratching/can we sit any closer, couple. I'm guessing it is a second marriage for them. She had a couple of kids; he had a couple of kids. They were visiting our ward for a nephew's baptism. She went to school with Johnny - so they were in their 40's. Come on people - get control of yourself!

Also, it was the first time in many years our family has actually sat in the chapel - as opposed to the overflow backrow where we usually sit. You see, I am now "one" of the ward organists and November is my first month to play. I am actually really excited - ward organist would be my "calling of choice". The other organists are actually not organists. What most people don't know is just because you can play the piano doesn't mean you can play the organ. About the only thing they have in common are "keys"!

I have played the piano since I was about 6 years old. My Grandpa Huber bought us a piano and I immediately claimed it as my own. I'm positive I drove my family nuts as I would sit at it for hours on end teaching myself to play (with Mom's help from the kitchen). I think I only really took about 6 formal piano lessons.

I took organ lessons from Eileen Jensen. I would meet her at the church in the afternoon one day a week, and then would practice on it a couple of times a week. She was a great teacher and was her ward organist until she died.

I was called to be the ward organist in the Lakeridge 3rd/4th Wards when I was about 14-15 years old and was it until I got married!!!! Since I've been married, I've been the the ward organist a couple of times and have played at Stake Conference many times.

I was a little rusty - but it's amazing how quickly it all came back. I love playing the organ!!!
